Artist need Vevo because of stars like Antoine Dodson

With technology getting more, well technical so does the stealing and freebies. The music industry has had it rough for the last decade due to the likes of inexpensive alternatives i-tunes and Youtube; or our free illegal buddy limewire.
The harsh reality of music sales
The money the artists are making is still a lot, but they have had to find new ways to attract the viewers to get their money for their tough competition.

Once upon a time, producers realized they couldn't delete every Youtube user's video that "so and so" uploaded which infringed upon their copyrights because their artists' song was being used without permission. Then they turned to get help from Vevo, a youtube music channel. There they can try to make it a big deal to watch Brittney Spears jiggle her way to 80 million views and watch Bieber say baby...baby...baby. The way they market it to make it such a big deal is by advertising the "WORLD PREMIERE" and catch it on this date. The money comes from the advertisers that make you sit through 30 seconds of their hopefully entertaining commercials. I feel this is their only hope before music videos won't mean a thing to the success of the artist, but who am I?

On the other hand, music artists not only compete for views or song purchases, but the fifteen minutes of fame youtube stars. Numerous stars have found fame on the website, from making their own song covers to selling merchandise, its ridiculous! I have to admit a lot of them I enjoy, but when will this end? Have you ever heard of Antoine Dodson?! Well OBVIOUSLY I am responsible for 1 million of the 80 million views that auto-tuned star has received!
